ok so how are you gonna wind it ? like 2curious or with regular bifilar wire ?

even i am still undecided , i cant get a flat out clear answer from the tech brief so i guess i'll be making both.

Well, My main focus is to make a seconday single winding able to produce about 20KV + and a little more AMPS then a standard ignition coil, so I'm going to use 36 gauge since I have some already. The standard ignition coil I took apart uses much thiner wire.

A bifilar secondary would require some special wire with supper heavy duty coating, so I'm sticking with single winding for that.

Now the bifliar chokes will be done with 24 gauge wire heavy coated.. still don't have it. trying to find some.

if you guys know a good place to get it let me know.

The primary will be done with 20 gauge wire standard coated.

Started to wind the secondary and the washers are holding perfectly. they don't even move, the Poly really glued them to the PVC tube.

this is going to take a lot of wire!!! I'm thinking I should have gone with 30 gauge and not 36. but I'm going to finish with the 36 I have now.

 get some rotating tool and guide the wire with some popscicle stick....

Ok, I wond the secondary and did some tests.

Plasma spark system have the problem where if the spark plug has water between the anode and cathode, the spark fails.

Using this coil with a secondary made with 36gauge wire and also using a custom HV cap, I'm able to have the spark to jump even when there is water in the plug.

Now I think this would be even better if the secondary is made from 30gauge wire, I clearly have room on my bobbins for it. so I think I going to get some a re-wind it.
