Interesting info
« on: October 31, 2008, 03:11:01 am »

Just read a post about someone having a cylinder with a sparkplug mounted in it, and a simulated head plate with viewing window.

He pumped in 125 PSI or DRY air, from a painters compressor air supply, and fired the plug. The plasma flame got LARGER.

After a couple days, he repeated the procedure, but, the DRY air was not available, so, he just used normal, "Humid" air ???   Blew the viewing plate out of the head plate, and scared the hell out of himself ???

Doesn't sound to me like a LOT of moisture is needed to push a piston down ??? NO other fuel, just moist air ???

He will try an engine soon.   Just thought  y'all might be interested ???

Any news on this?

I have also seen some info on a van that uses the hydrogen flame to quickly heat the misted water that is injected into the combustion chamber.  This turns the water mist into steam and the pressure pushes the piston down.  Making the van more of a stream vehicle but still interesting.
