if you mean 1 inch diameter core....i found a place that makes electrical steel cores but it was 180 to have it machined for a 1 inch diameter...10 inches long.....i chose 10 inches since the longer the bifilar coil the more it will hold back current...so nothing to really lose....ad most people wind their bifilars wrong in some cases in a caduceus manner.

BUT AS FOR TONIGHT i have finished the primary winding as according to the patent and now tomorrow i am going to start the monstrous 600 winds....now does the orientation of the windings matter from the primary to the secondary?...should they be wound in the same direction?...or does it have to oppose each other in order to produce an effect???

It does not matter, all though there is some real fruit loops out there that say it does.

I would not go over 100 wraps on a 1 inch choke, why didn't you wrap the secondary first like in the photo?

i read on a few websites that your supposed to wrap hte primary first then hte secondary on top of the primary.....

no comment, whatever cranks your tractor, however i like for my secondary to be neat and close to the magnetic core! not to mention is much easier to wrap, and count the wraps.

yay!! so here is the break down.....i first hooked up two probes to my analog oscope....one to the pwm output and on to the toroidal transformers output.....wave form is not distorted and is amplified in voltage....(50% duty cycle...i think that is with my mark-sapce turned all the way down hence a 1:1 ratio 50% )6 volts in 12 volts out (as explained here http://www.eleinmec.com/article.asp?28).....i looked up the math and from the patents meyers vic transformer will only put out around volts 12-15 volts from the 12 volt 50% duty cylce which becomes 6 volts in side........my primary covers the core completely, while my secondary covers only 3/4ths...and at a certain frequency range the toroid will sing......so all in all it works and the primary is completely isolated from the secondary which is the main concept of this transformer.....no electrical leakage will occur when step charging the capcitor.....off to the last piece the bifilar coil!!!

i'm honestly happy that the first transformer i build actually works....i didn't want to sit here for and hour winding 600 turns for nothing....im not a complete idiot after all.

hehe, we would love to see your coil, even if it isn't so perty!

Great job man!
