Will this work for a motor?

General purpose motor, 1.5 hp, 3-phase, 208-230/460V, 1800 RPM, TEFC 56C rolled steel frame, Class F insulation, NEMA design B, electrically reversible, removable bolt-on base, 5:1 variable torque rating, 2:1 constant torque rating

Also where do I get the different belt gearings or whatever they are called?

yes. it will work. But you will need about a 5" (120mm) pulley to go on it. To get 3000RPM's To the alternator. That is, if your alternator has a 3" (75mm) pulley on it.

i dont see anything wrong with the rpm's, Stan used 1800 rpms!

in the past i said stan used a 220 volt motor, stevie proved me wrong, so stan did use a 115 volt motor. But you can do anything you set your mind to...
