In the 1880's, John Keely of Pa machine shop, built a brass self
rotating water / air motor using inherent, built in water hammer for 50
lbs pressure with output flywheel and offset crank hooked to
reciprocating saw. The rod arm was adjustable for timing. The motor was
doing work by sawing wood for visitors and clients / investors. The
Patent application was refused , since the investors names were not on
the application. ( he had rotating central 4 way hydraulic shock valves
generating pressure. The first several models had hand operated
mechanical lever. You can see photos on Internet, - hydro pneumatic vacu
engine.) See also S.V.P. data sheets and historical booklets. Unit was
stored in museum, sold, then stolen once, and recovered a year later.
The machine matches the working instructions in the Patent application
papers.
