Tell me how does passing electrons through a filament consume electrons? it consumes power? But if you start thinking vacuum tube technology you then start to see a filament as a source of electrons..

They do not get really consumed.... they get emited and collected on another electrode... it consume power as the electron ejection cool down the filament
