Thanks, that second add on circuit was my attempt of using a P channel Fet, since everyone uses N channels. It was a failure, not sure why. It worked but it just didnt seem smooth.

Did you put the  P channel in the + connection?
It doesnt work if you try to put it in the same place as where you normally put the N channel fet....

That is a 30 watts. And nothing heats up, even after an hour, no heat anywhere. Heat sink ice cold.
