Steve Meyer Shipped me Stans Diode!
« on: September 29, 2019, 05:50:58 am »
So I lied! Well, I am very sorry guys for Lying in the Topic, But I had to, I had to get all of your attention. I will post this Video, And Please Make sure to watch the entire 6 Minute Video.

For those that want to quickly Know what they are about to watch, or Know what they are about to Throw away by not watching it, The following will help Explain. The video will talk about Diodes.

You will learn (Very Basic) Stuff relating to diodes that, (hey I didn't know until This week) So dont feel bad if you thought you knew what a Diode was, and if your anything like me after you watched the video and Learned what A Diode really was you just realized you was dumb and needed this Idiots Guide. This may be very important to the VIC. Also, Please do not Forget about the SCR and Triac Not covered in this Post or video. It is a Gate Controlled Diode like a Mosftet or Transistor. There's Many different types of Scr and Triacs, they all Do Different things. Please Do not forget to research those. Or, Remain an Idiot like I was if you wish to ignore this very valuable information.

I have Attatched the Datasheet to the 1N1198 Diode that Stan Used in his VIC.

Please Find out what is different about this diode that seperates it from the rest. And Also This was Not stans Only Vic, He has Hidden SCR's and the Like to Monitor and Recirculate.

Also, More on the Vic In A different Thread. This Thread is Dedicated TO Diodes.

it was normal or reverse polarity? study is anode or cathode? do you know?

i was looking into schoty diodes, i plan to have them in use on my resonant design they dissipate much less power...

the interesting part of this datasheet is that it allow a reverse current of 2ma?

there is also this other version of the datasheet
