VIC 24 AWG - COPPER?? I dont think so!
« on: May 30, 2016, 20:15:50 pm »
Today i bought 1KG of enamelled wire 24 AWG (0,5mm), my big surprise when i measure the total resistance of the bobin:

50 OHMS!

Less resistance than secondary coil  on the VIC from the dune buggy.

This let me think a little bit...

I dont want to doubt about Don's honesty but...

Was it really copper??
Was the measurements right?

Was all of us fooled with this wrong information?

Is this why nobody can put it to work?

I measured with 2 different multimeters, and both gave me the same values...

What a f..... was that?

1kg is about 553 meters (50 ohms!)

You waisted your money.Stan used 29awg double coated magnet wire.Everything about the wire, coils makes sense, nothing is trown there randomly, and Dons
's measurements are right.

I saw a picture in his forum taken by Don measuring 0.0155" to 0.40mm aprox

AWG is different from SWG some people think it is the same.
