the distortion of the header of the drawings posted at rwgresearch is from the inability to lay the bound
sheets flat on the scanner. As an example of this go to globalkast and look at the header for Fig 2.2
The letters are larger on the left part of the header and smaller on the right which happens when the bound copy of the injector file is scanned with the page slightly raised on one side . Additionally, as subsequent pages were folded or rolled back the top part of the page it would become more difficult to hold flat against the scanners flatbed and so images become more distorted or out of focus toward the spine, as the spine of the binding becomes thicker with each turn of the page in the injector binder.
think about scanning a phone book. the first few pages are mainly without distortion and toward the middle
of the book listings become darker and more out of focus
