VIC setup 3
« on: February 13, 2012, 09:35:40 am »
I`v  built this VIC and hope to have close measurments to the actual measurments provided by Dynadon.
I used awg30 because I had difficulty finding awg29 to ship to my country.

primary 650turns
secondary 3500turns
choke L1 3500turns
choke L2 3500turns

I`ll take resistance and inductance measurments later today

As for the primay i`m getting 12.7ohms and 46mH
and for the other three coils i`m getting around 90ohms and 1.26H~1.35H
Considering that i`m using slightly thinner wire (with some more resistance per the length used) those numbers make sense and look pretty close to stans.
primary 12.7ohms vs meyers  10.5ohms
secondary and chokes 90ohms vs meyers 75ohms

Hi hydrogenmask,

Good work!
For actual measurements close to SM VIC.  :)
Do you know the frequency of the meter used for the readings?

Dont have an idea as for the frequency use by the meter to measure inductance. But check it out with another meter and measurments are aproximatly the same.

Tested this setup yesterday.
Using a 2mm gap 3" insulated tube cell
Pulsed the primary with a 50%dutycycle squarewave from about 200hz to 20khz.
found 2 sweet spots were the VIC resonated that were @ about 4.5khz and 14khz.
However unfortunately there were no phase shift as I was especting  :(  i.e. voltage sinewaves were same in amplitude and in phase at the +ve and -ve terminals, and therefore no substential potential difference across the cell.

What I`v learn from these 3 experemnts is that
1/ water in between the electrodes should be totaly isolated from ground.
2/ earth ground connected to SM isolated ground seem to help in achieving VIC resonance better.

Still disappointed with the results so far ???

Thanks for sharing!
We known the feeling of disappointements, HM!
1000 tests with 999 failures....

Hangin there.
