After reading up on magnetrons
« on: January 30, 2008, 05:25:53 am »
I have been focussing on magnetrons and electron guns for my experimenting because I dont think many others are.  But anyway I found this in a section on Masers. "The resonant frequency of the microwave cavity is exactly tuned to the hyperfine structure of hydrogen: 1420 405 751.768 Hz."  I also found it very interesting that when you superheat water with a magnetron and then introduce hot metal it splits the water into hydrogen and oxygen.

Here is the excerpt : "many studies have shown that passing superheated steam over heated metal or iron filings or within heated iron pipes decomposes the steam (H2O separates into hydrogen, the oxygen being reduced in the presence of red hot iron). The hydrogen-oxygen plasma ignites"

anyway just some food for thought
