thank you carbed.. slowly but surely... just got back from out of town and im glad to see i have my old/newstock superior electric variable transformer.. anyone thats looking to get a good deal on a variable transformer i suggest you go on ebay and try to find new/old stock brand name.. this transformer i bought for 135 bucks including shipping... it a superior electric and is 1.4 kva / output volts- 0-140/ 10 amp
it isnt a complete working transformer you have to buy or build a box, hook up a desired output socket with a fuse in line so if you overload you dont burn it up.. and wire a cord to it so you can plug it in..
i saw a 22 amp 0-140v output / 240 source one go for like 175
it came in its original box and has a delivery ticket still on the case..
this transformer was sold to eg&g astrophysics reseach in 1993 so its a 93 model brand new.
