Hi outlawstc
not unless use then in a 'switching action, you have to use another to turn it off, not good.

"does the plasma cutter have a variable amplitude control?"   No they just use PMW. at around 10 to 20khz square wave.

in the tig and  do in the 'plasma cut'
They use of a 'saturated reactor' a choke.  You may have 100V DC to stat with but when you pull current it drops to about 70v the choke is then 'saturated' and the current is steady.

For me to make a heavy DC power supply it would cost around the same as one of these tic/plasma cutters.  the out put is not what I want, but I will make a new 'add on board' utilizing the 'power supply' and then I can switch between the two. The new add on will have the 'plasma supply and control it has to be a lot higher frequency and is 'RF' the IGBT's do not go high enough and would get too hot at higher frequencies above 20khz.

Radiant, I don't know what to say, you are reading the exact description I am referring too [plus the videos] and some how you manage pull O3 out of that. So I'm going to give up and leave this topic to it's rightful discussion of the Oz Injector.

I also think it's odd how you go head over heals to proclaim Atomic Hydrogen, or single Hydrogen atoms, yet you completely miss the point that it is also Atomic Oxygen, or single Oxygen atoms. These Oxygen atoms can not form Molecular O3 for the exact same reason why they can not form H2O when they react with the Hydrogen, they are missing their covalent electrons and are too positively charged to bond to other Atoms and can not stabilize, first they must destroy several Hydrogen Atoms before they have regained enough electrons to stabilize in a molecular structure.

Sorry Aussepom for getting off track in your topic.

O3 is 3 oxygen atoms, It's More referred to name would be Ozone layer.

Chlorine will kill our ozone, and turn it into Chlorine Monoxide letting harmful rays threw. 1 Chlorine molecule will destroy, 100,000 ozone molecules, which is why its hot.

Stan does not use O3.(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v81/bigbuba/HFP.jpg)
If you can explain how "The oxygen atom having less than four covalent electrons" is able to form O3 then I'll graciously retract my correction of your error. If you can.

Ozone also got a dipole moment
What is the charge of the oxygen radical, or third oxygen atom? +4qe? [charge of 4 missing electrons]
Such as with H2O, H2 = +2qe and O = -2qe, molecule nets zero

Well I used to think the same , but you never know anything with this mofo Stan . Thats why you always formulate with the word " I think" . Perhaps he had to introduce an external source of ionized air to further the electron stripping .

Radiant_1 certainly needs better manners , that is a given .

Sorry for taking off topic this wundeful attempt @ a OU device .

W/e Dankie...at least I say what I feel to people's faces...so, don't go there  >:(

As for understanding that air ionizes to O3...doesn't matter...it will do so whether you believe it does or doesn't

I apologize Aussepom for allowing the arguement to take over your thread...I have removed the offending posts

I am sorry if your thread got debunked to this area. I am on dialup and i simply do not have the time to Maintain each and every post, It would take me all day and would be very flusterating.

I am not pointing Fingers, But from now on when something like this happens, It will wind up here! So have fun!

AND, try to be nice guy's. This means watch your attitude and way of language.

Again, very sorry if your post wound up here, if you had a question for Aussie, Please repost it in his thread.
