Here is a comparision of 2 I7Bs  attached to OT2 aND OT8
 
OT2I7B 543 CALIPER UNITS LONG
OT2I7B 117 CALIPER UNITS LONG FOR SHORT "FOOT"
OT2I7B 193 CALIPER UNITS LONG BEFORE ANGLED BEND
 
OT8I7B 559 CALIPER UNITS LONG
OT8I7B 124 CALIPER UNITS LONG FOR SHORT "FOOT"
OT817B 199 CALIPER UNITS TALL BEFORE ANGLED BEND

There is excellent agreement between ratio of the height before the first bend of the
I7Bs and the 90  degree angle of the foot.
 
The width of OT2 is 123 caliper units
The length of OT2I7B is 543 units

This is interpreted as  when an assumed width of the OT2 is taken as 123 units =
0.75 inches a calculated value of 3.31 inches is obtained
D9 (Dynodon reports a measurment of 3.5 inches (post 56  Jan 23 2011)
A discrepancy of about 6% which is probably acceptable given the non critical nature of the part.
