Hi guys,

I have been experimenting on plate cells and choke for the pass few weeks.

Cell setup :
Number of plates : 16
Number of cell : 8
Plate gap : 1.2mm
Choke : Transformer primary (12V)

I will post the setup photos soon. Attached is the circuit I used in my experiment. As mentioned before I found that 100 turn choke gave better result compared to 200 turn choke. I did use bifilar choke previously but I find using single inductor after cell and before mosfet gave similar results or much better.

Firstly, I test with inductor with 800 turns. The best output amps is less than 0.5A at resonance. Then I test with 100 turns inductor I got higher output amps compare to input. Then I use factory wound transformer 12V (primary) I got much better results. Finally, the best results obtained using 6V primary transformer.

I hope this circuit can be tested and verified by someone and post the results.

that is one hell of a smart circuit! you came up with this yourself?

stevie, you should have a look at this! great job, i can say i like this!

kurman, how much trouble would it be for you to download msn?

Glad to hear you like the circuit. The circuit is purely trial an error. I follow Bedini monopole SSG circuit and Steve's circuit. Modify the circuit a bit to suit electrolysis. Have you tested the circuit? I manage to get 3 times more amps using transformer (6V primary). Placing inductor in between battery and cell will not give any results. Inductor my be placed after cell and before mosfet (drain).

Hydrocars, I can't access many sites at my working place. I don't have internet access at home. If really need to contact me, PM me or just reply to this post.

ahh, you might already know this but you're pulsing the inductor and the inductor is discharging threw the diode to the cell, this is "ideal", there is much that should be added to this circuit.

the reason this circuit works so well is because the inductor which acts as a spring "pushes" amps into the cell, where just connecting it to a battery would not.

this is a very good circuit, is there any way you can think to make 2 of these circuits in 1? just to see what that might do.

yes work is understood, i only sent a mail out because no activity was happening on the site at all, we have several members here and no one has made hardly any post.

there is more to come when things get up to par.

Hi Hydrocars,

I forgot to mentioned about narrow gap plate cells when first time constructed. In newly constructed cell, bubbles tend to stick to plates. But after running the cell for sometime (few hours), the bubbles are free to flow out from the gap easily.

But the voltage across the cell is still less than 3V (still doesn't show OU). One think for sure, amps is the one does the work and not voltage (to my knowledge). If add more batteries in series, less input amps needed but output amps doubles or triples. I need you to try and verify the circuit.

You mean full circuit including PWM, cell & choke?
