Using a switch to put current into a coil and stop it is well known.. when the current dont have where to go high voltage is developed according to the resistance of the open circuit and current flowing into the coil..

when the switch open the high voltage is across the switch unavoidably...

untill

since i saw that circuit using those thyristors to get those nano pulse story.. .i perceived that they actually are using the tyristors as a mean to isolate the primary from the switch such that the high voltage is across only the thiristor and the coil oposing vectors.... now thats interesting... if they now opose its vectors whats the voltage across the switch?

the question is can we put many of this just in series and simply get very high voltage aready in the primaries?

the answer is yes..

for example if you put 10 primaries isolated by this thyristors havinb 1,2kv rating than it mean your primary have 10kv easy going...

of course this is just part of the story... i dont think it would work without many tvs and movs all around but this is the idea...

it dont need to be a scr... it could be almost any type of transistor... you just need a zener or tvs and a big resistor and add this in series with your already going transistor.. the resistor goes to the positive... the tvs impeed the gate to go over 15v ... and thats it... i would protect the sistem with tvs across the extra switch and across the switch too also between the gates and sources... gates katodes.. etc you got my point...

the good of it is that the power of the primary leakage is dissipated in the voltage blocker (extra switch)

the advantage is that the tvs across the main switch dont receive directly the source + voltage of the coil it   in short it increase the ability of your switch to handle the high voltage spikes and allow them to go to the secondary

those thyristors are FCD field controlled diode , not SCR , they are normally on state , then switched off by reverse of the coil polarity.

Im collecting parts for the Les Banki circuit using 1500v mosfet + TVS  ..........obviously no SITh 

the japanese wouldnt release what ever discovery they made , none of those papers ever go into actual circuit or findings.

thing is....
WHY do large companies do research into something that science says is complete = electrolysis ??
WHY do they allow research funding ??
WHY has NGK manufactured the SITh ??
WHY isnt it available ??   
WHY did they make the SIT transistor ??
WHY isnt it available ??

according to the dates on any research papers these parts have been around for quite a while ..... Ive never heard of them   

have you had a look at the general structure of FCD ?   I cant see how to copy like a darlington but changed around

in the patent they say the sith is used but whatever switch could be used... you just must provide it turn on... and is fairly easy to accomplish this...

also main problem seems where power is dissipated... so should be between the anode and gate to work nice



the resistor connecting the gate and the positive side of the coil will be able to turn whatever transistor on.. thats the beauty  of that...

the point is that the thyristor family works with current so if we use maybe high voltage tvs arrangements we can turn it on and allow it to go to a certain voltage level... as the current is being restricted into the tryster the amps will be lower when the exit the gate... thus the thirstier will dissipate some power but it can be mounted in a heat sync!

if we use a mosfet for example the current would not have where to go... so a better aproach is needed to provide a path for this reduced current...

the thyristor will close when the current drop under a certain value also if no triger is applied... so it will trigger on when mosfet trigers on automatically simply because of the resistor... and than the mosfet turns off and so the E field of the coil reverses polarity and now apply to the gate a negative polarity reference to anode and this will be clamped to less than a volt reference to the cathode by action of the diode... in parallel between k and G ... i plan to use a 15v tvs...
