You can buy an electrically powered ink pen which contains the necessary chemicals to plate platinum.  In fact, a variety of pens are available, for plating different metals.  I'm attaching the price list document, which I can't open since I don't have MS Office.  Maybe someone who does have this software can open the file, then post a screen shot?  If the price is right, this might help a lot of us.

that would be wonderfull..didnt saw platinum on the list.. there were palladium and rhodium... i remember those pens, its good for jewlery...but the problem is that to cover a big area the pen wont work... my plates for example were 30cm in diameter... i was planing to make a 25um thickness layer,,,

i´m not sure if platinum would do any good.... this project aimed very low voltage high current... the goal was to have up to 9000 amps at few milivolts... 

now i´m into pulsing the water with my big vic...

i´m constructing today a ambient air lazer.. hoping it will work..

would a process similar to anodizing be good for platinum ?
surely catalytic converters must be tin or steel with a very thin plating .

some of the formulas i used can be found on this links but  i got them from books at the university..

i had to choose the simpler so i could have all the chemicals required..

if i had more 1000$ i could get a decent piece of platinum to plate and make tests with it... is something i´m interested into...

from my understanding the platinum in the solution as goes off to the cathode the platinum come off from the anode... 

the solution was like 0.1ph... if i remember well for the palladium solution
